University and college are long over and you’ve been in the workplace for a number of years – what next? You might still feel compelled to learn something new and to improve your skills, not just because you want to become better at your job and improve job prospects, but also because you simply love to learn. Learning keeps our brains active and can be important for our mental health, so it is understandable when people look for new ways to further their learning in the workplace. Supportive employers will often have options in place already for individual and team learning, which can help to advance your learning through focused courses, seminars, study sessions, conferences and more. If your employer doesn’t have options openly available, speak to them about it – any good employer should be pleased that you want to learn more, develop yourself, and that you are passionate about your career.
